Axel Amthor
Axel Amthor, born 1956, is responsible for engineering, technology, systems and design management in his function as managing director. He is in charge of the corporate headquarters located in Munich, Germany. Axel Amthor brings more than 25 years of experience in the IT-business to the team, among other positions he served 12 years as IT-consultant for corporations like Siemens and Siemens-Nixdorf. Since 1997 he has been focusing his attention on content management and Internet systems development. Some of his customers included banks, insurance companies, telecommunication companies, industry, new media and activities in European and North American trade.
During that time Axel Amthor noticed that many projects that he was hired for were lacking the business administrative assessment viewpoint. Many clients were unable to ascertain the effect of their online engagements on their overall business success rate. This lack of knowledge niche was the business idea for the consulting firm contentmetrics, founded by Amthor in 2003 together with Thomas Brommund.
Amthor has a firm knowledge base in information technology, e.g. concerning security and firewalls, Microsoft operating systems and diverse Unix-derivatives, data bases (SQL-Server, Oracle, Sybase, MySQL etc.), content management systems, software development and development methodologies (OOP, UML as well as the related development environments). He has acquired know-how in the following programming languages Java/JSP, C/C++, Perl, tcl/tk, Cobol, Fortran, Visual Basic and markup-languages (XML, XSL/XSLT, HTML etc.).
